What Is Gasification Plant?

Gasification plant is a system in which rice husk, wood refuse, saw dust etc. solid agro mass fuel is fed mechanically into into a gas producer, which is embedded on a water lube in air tight condition where firing takes place with controlled air supply to occur partial combustion to generate a combustible gas known as producer gas. This gas is passed through scrubber and gas filters to make it cool & purified, before feeding in diesel Generating Engines & Boiler’s Furnaces.

Basic Process Chemistry

The gasifier is essentially a chemical reactor where various complex physical and chemical processes take place. Biomass gets dried, heated, pyrolysed, partially oxdised and reduced in this reactor as it OWS through it.

Four distinct processes take place in a gasifier, drying of the fuel, pyrolysis, combustion and reduction. Although there is a considerable overlap, each process can be considered to be occupying a separate zone in which fundamentally different chemical and thermal reaction take place. The fuel must pass through all of there zone to be completely converted.

The essential characteristic of down-draft design being used AGRO POWER gasifiers is that it is designed so that the tars given off in the pyrolysis zone are drawn through the combustion zone, where they will be broken down or burned.when this happens, the energy they contain is usefully recovered and the mixture of gases in the exit stream is relatively clean.
